These Terms govern your use of the Jann mobile application (the "App"). This English version is provided for users outside the Republic of Korea; the Korean version remains the controlling text where any conflict arises (한국어 보기).
By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Jann is an iOS application that helps you (a) catalog ingredients in your refrigerator, (b) receive recipe recommendations based on flavor pairing analysis, and (c) optionally generate recipes via OpenAI. All recipes are provided for informational and convenience purposes only.
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA) to create an account. You authenticate via Apple, Google, or Kakao Sign-In. You are responsible for activity under your account.
You agree not to (a) reverse engineer or decompile the App, (b) abuse the AI recipe quota beyond reasonable personal use, (c) upload content that infringes third-party rights, (d) attempt to circumvent rate limits or authentication, or (e) use the App for any illegal purpose.
Curated recipes are sourced from (a) the USDA MyPlate Public Domain dataset and (b) AI-curated recipes authored by us. The app's flavor pairing analysis is based on our own ingredient flavor profile data. All sources are credited within the App and at Open Source Licenses.
The App may display third-party purchase links (e.g., Coupang Partners, Kurly) for ingredient sourcing. We may earn a referral commission at no additional cost to you. Such links are marked or otherwise identifiable as marketplace search shortcuts.
The App, its source code (apart from open-source components listed at Open Source Licenses), and its visual design are © 2026 Heetae Kim, registered with the Korean Copyright Commission (C-2026-023193). Recipe text generated by AI on your behalf belongs to you.
Jann v1.1 is free. The "Jann Plus" subscription is marked "Coming Soon" and is not available for purchase in this version. When activated in a future release, billing terms will be presented inside the subscription confirmation modal as required by Apple App Store guidelines.
We provide the App on an "as-is" basis. We may modify or discontinue features at any time, with or without notice, except where prohibited by local consumer-protection law. We are not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability or third-party service interruptions (Apple, Google, OpenAI, Cloudflare, Kakao).
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising from your use of the App is limited to the greater of (a) USD 50 or (b) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation lost profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under your local consumer-protection law.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the App, including without limitation health consequences from following AI-generated recipes without independent verification, intellectual-property infringement by content you provide, or violation of these Terms.
You may delete your account at any time at Me → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, with notice except where immediate action is required to protect users or the service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute shall be resolved in the Seoul Central District Court, except where you, as a consumer in your country of residence, are entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts under mandatory local law.
We will notify you of material changes via the App Store What's New screen and an in-app banner at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
